I am happy to say that I am not one of the thousands that woke up early (or stayed up late) to watch the broadcast at 5am. In fact, I woke up at 11 this morning thinking it was only Thursday! I perused the newly posted pictures of the wedding with my morning coffee and was surprised by the simplicity of Kate's gown. It was a refreshingly elegant choice on her part and divinely detailed on Sarah Burton's. It's apparent that her dress echoed that of Grace Kelly's when the actress married Prince Rainier of Monaco, but Middleton also had clear distinction of her own. The v-neckline gave a very modern touch and her train wasn't overwhelmingly long. Her maid-of-honor and sister, Pippa, was equally striking. She wore a white, cowl-neck column gown that broke every rule in the book about what the maid-of-honor is supposed to wear. Perhaps the Middleton sisters have started a new trend? Maybe we'll be seeing more bride and maid-of-honor duos both wearing white!
Did anyone notice Victoria Beckham's heels? I would like to know how she managed to wear six inches of wobbly stilettos when she's six months pregnant! Accompanying her, husband David Beckham cleaned up his look quite nicely in a dashing tuxedo. The couple looked very posh indeed!
