Cynthia Rowley Tights

I've been meaning to write this post for a while, I just haven't had a chance until now. You all know how much I love Gilt Groupe...take a look at my most recent purchase! These made me so happy because I wanted some unique tights and these were just what I had in mind! The best part is that I didn't spend a penny on them! I accumulated a credit for referring a member, plus they took off my shipping charge because the package had been back-ordered.

I'm pleased to say that these tights are very nice quality and are super comfy. The only bad thing I have to report is that one of the trouser socks got a snag in them the first time I wore them. It might have been because I just didn't take them off gently enough, but it's still disappointing that it didn't take much for them to rip. The tights, on the other hand, seem to be a bit more durable--not a single rip yet!

10 Items or Less

Even if you don't have the chance to go shopping often, you can still find new ways to wear your clothes without spending a dime!

 Here's your challenge:
Go to your closet and close your eyes. Pick out a few random pieces and then open your eyes. You now have your first items to work off of. Continue to pick clothes you think would go well with the first ones until you have 10 pieces total. Now make as many outfits as possible using these and any other accessories or shoes!

I was amazed by how many outfits I was able to make and how different each look was. I went for a simple color palette with a few touches of pink and blue. This worked well for my first time doing this, but next time I want to add some more interesting colors and patterns for more playful and bright looks.

These are the clothes I picked out...

  1. black cardigan-Banana Republic
  2. little black dress-Rue 21
  3. striped dress-Old Navy
  4. striped button-down-American Eagle
  5. striped jacket-thrift store find
  6. gray sweater-Aeropostale
  7. white shirt-Forever 21
  8. v-neck sweater-Aeropostale
  9. gray skinny jeans-PacSun
  10. blue shrug-Old Navy

...and I was able to make nine outfits out of them! I probably could've kept going if I hadn't needed to go to bed. It was like playing dress-up and I couldn't stop thinking of ways to wear the clothes.

Ripped Tights-Best When Worn with Black Boots

One trend that's lots of fun right now is ripped tights. They look good with the wildest of your outfits, or the simplest. They can give a little bit of grunge to a girly outfit, or add to your all-out rocker look. The best part of this trend? It can be totally free! You really only need a plain pair of black tights you don't wear anymore and scissors. While you are wearing them, snip big holes, little holes, medium holes, whatever floats your boat! Then, tug on the tights, pulling the holes away from each other, to create runs. An easy DIY project like this is customizable so you can make them the way you want. You can slash holes all around your tights or just give them a few tears. Whatever look you go for, these tights will give any outfit loads of spunk and get you double-takes as you strut your stuff!

Ripped tights look great with black ankle boots, florals, bright colors, jean skirts, off-the-shoulder shirts, short dresses, and layered necklaces.
